The View just interviewed Chaz Bono, Cher’s transsexual son. He talked about his relationship now, how the transition was for his girlfriend, from their former lesbian relationship, and some other stereotypical, dumb questions.
While the interview could have been better, I think it was a step in the right direction for transsexual exposure in the media. From an angle of understanding and compassion, not from the angle of circus attraction or satire.
The questions, on many fronts, could have been better. “Which restroom do you use?” Uhhh, there’s a question for you, dolt. But I suppose that’s just how it goes on a daytime talk show entirely hosted by complete flakes.
Anyhow, I thought it was at least a stumbling in the right direction. Exposure is the first step to acceptance and understanding. Why do you think they offered to get Sister Wives going? Exposure.
